Volley Trials- Fingers Crossed

WOW!  This is going to be real challenging to try and make it in the team because, all the others look real good at playing volley.

Year 7 and 8 students from Pt England are trialling for the volleyball team.  If you want to make it on the team you will have to bring your very best attitude and your high level skills.  Without too much effort I reckon that I did pretty good, but then .... When I think about it, I reckon that I could've done better.

We had to get into groups of nine and it was boys against girls.

It was time to start the game and I was one of the first nine people on the court.  We’ll be doing a strategy of three hits.  A pass, a set and finally a spike.  We gave it a try, but most of the time we were unsuccessfully.

Why did we fail our strategy?  Because there was a lack of communication. We had to convince ourselves that we could do better.  We knew that we could do it, but I think that some of us didn’t believe in ourselves.

Before you knew it, Mr Barks was quite interested in us.  He was pulling people off the court because he was quite interested and could see that we were doing better.

Miss Vaafusuaga was a spectator, but was watching the girls and pulling the ones that were impressing her off the courts.

With luck on our side, some of us were impressive and Mr Barks invited us back for the next trial date.

I’ve just checked out the latest team list and i'm still on it lets hope it stays like that.
